ENSEMBLE MICHELANGELO ABBADO
STRING ORCHESTRA
Performing on:
2024 – 2025 – 2026
The “Michelangelo Abbado” Chamber Orchestra, formerly “Virtuoso Ensemble”, is an orchestral training project created under the aegis of Roero Cultural Events as a natural evolution of the Contemporary Music Hub, an artistic project conceived by the International Music Exchange Association and supported by the MIC through SNODI – Colline Creative.
The project participants are young string instrumentalists carefully selected within the national scene. Under the guidance of Maestro Adrian Pinzaru, an internationally renowned violinist, and with the participation of the members of the Delian String Quartet as instructors, the project aims to deepen the study of orchestral repertoire and technique for string ensembles, while offering young artists the opportunity to perform within major concert seasons of both national and international scope.
Following the success with audiences achieved at the Monte Pisano Art Festival, Nessiah Festival, and Colline in Musica, as well as the inauguration of the celebrations for the 10th anniversary of the UNESCO recognition held at the Castle of Grinzane Cavour, the “Michelangelo Abbado” Chamber Orchestra was invited to perform in China, in March 2025, at the Chengdu Concert Hall, the Baoli Theatre in Kunming, and the “Shi Guang Nan” Theatre in Chongqing. Participation in the opening concert of the Colline in Musica 2025 festival is also scheduled.
From February 26 to March 12, 2025, the orchestra was invited to tour China, which saw it perform as the main attraction at the Baoli Theatre in Yunnan, the Nie Er Theatre in Yuxi, the Grand Theatre in Chongqing, and the Concert Hall in Chengdu.
