CHOIR
Performing on:
2023 – 2024 – 2025 – 2026
The Ensemble Vocale Polimnia was founded by Claudio Fenoglio, long-time Chorus Master of the Children’s Choir at the Teatro Regio in Turin, with the aim of preserving the rich cultural and musical heritage developed within the choir. The ensemble consists of fifteen young female artists, aged between 16 and 26, who continue their vocal and musical studies at a high level. Thanks to the extensive experience gained by its members on stage over the years, the ensemble guarantees artistic excellence in both concerts and a wide range of cultural events.
In its three years of activity, the ensemble has performed in concert at the EstOvest Festival, for the Cesare Pavese Foundation, and at the Holocaust Remembrance Day concert held in the Diana Hall of the Reggia di Venaria. In terms of staged productions, the ensemble has self-produced and performed Puccini’s Suor Angelica and participated in CircoInCanto, one of the first circus operas in Italy, in collaboration with the FLIC Circus School and the “G. Verdi” Conservatory of Turin.
Under the artistic direction of Maestro Fenoglio, the association also organizes the Trames Festival in Bagnolo Piemonte and runs singing and music workshops in various institutions, including comprehensive schools in Barge and Bagnolo Piemonte, as well as the “R. Morandi” prison in Saluzzo. In 2022, the ensemble was awarded the Special Prize for Cultural Innovation as part of the Crowdfunding for Culture Award.
For this concert, the ensemble presents a unique reinterpretation of some of the most celebrated operas, including La Traviata, Turandot, Cavalleria Rusticana, and Nabucco, under the direction and piano accompaniment of Maestro Claudio Fenoglio. Vocal works will alternate with solo piano pieces by Giacomo Puccini and Pietro Mascagni—short, rarely performed compositions that reflect a strong operatic character. The program pays tribute to Giacomo Puccini, commemorating the 100th anniversary of his death.
