INJEONG HWANG

SOPRANO

She performed at the Alba Music Festival on the occasion of Happy Birthday UNESCO concert with the conductor Jeffrey Silberschlag at the castle in Grinzane Cavour. The soprano Cristina Injeong Hwang was born in Seoul, she left the University career in statistics and began the music studies at the University Ewha in her city. In 2016 she moved to Italy to improve her linguistic and cultural knowledge of her opera repertoire where she graduated cum laude at the Conservatoire “G.Verdi” in Turin. She made deeper her study and her music repertoire at the Civico Istituto Musicale “Lodovico Rocca in Alba where she imposed herself progressively for her vocal and interpretative qualities. She won numerous national and international competitions: she obtained the second award at the International Opera Competition “Piemonte Opera Voci dal Mondo” in 2019; the first award International Music Competition “Talenti in Canavese” in 2017; the special prize “Teresa Belloc” at the International Opera Competition “Teresa Belloc” in 2016; the first award at the Oera Competition “L’Associazione Musicale di Concorrenza Coreana” in 2015; in 2019 she has been semi-finalist on the second edition of “Amadeus Factory Contest”. In 2017 she interpreted Nymph in “Lamento della ninfa” of C.Monteverdi at the Conservatoire “G.Verdi” of Turin. In 2018 she has been the protagonist in two special settings dedicated to children’s works in the roles of the queen of the night in “Die Zauberflote” of W.A. Mozart and Adina in “L’elisir d’amore” of G.Donizetti staged in the Beppe Fenoglio hall in the city of Alba. She performed in important concert seasons in Italy and abroad including the New Years’s Eve concerts with the conductor Gudni Emilsson in the church of San Domenico in Alba. She performed as a soloist and in the chorus of Theatre Regio in Turin taking part in the works “Cavalleria Rusticana”, “Violanta” and “Nabucco”. In 2021 she won the international award Arca d’Oro Giovani Talenti
