The members of the Dvořák Quartet of the Reina Sofía Music School have been students of Professor Heime Müller’s String Quartet Chair since 2023.

It is formed by violinists Miquel Muñiz (Spain) and Maria Matshkalyan (Armenia), violist Candela Alarcón (Spain) and cellist Leonardo Chiodo (Finland). They have received masterclasses of Vera Martínez and Jonathan Brown (Casals Quartet).

The four young musicians have an international solo career playing with the Orchestra della Toscana, the Sibelius Academy Orchestra, the CullerArts Orchestra, the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra or the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra.

They have been awarded numerous national and international prizes such as the VI International Paulo Cello Competition (Finland), Grumiaux International Violin Competition (Belgium), Marine Iashvili International Strings Competition in Tbilisi (Georgia), XIII Finnish National Cello Competition, Jeunesses Musicales from Spain Strings Competition or “Gran Premi Musical Lauredià” in Andorra.

They have participated in international festivals and courses at the Kronberg Academy (Germany), the Sion Music Festival (Switzerland), the Middle East Classical Music Academy in Dubai, among others; and have performed at the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Chamber Music Hall of the Berliner Philharmonie, the Former Residence of the Spanish Ambassadors in Washington DC, the Auditorium of Zaragoza, the Cemal Resit Rey Auditorium in Istanbul, the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, the Auditorium of Almería or the Sony Auditorium in Madrid.
