The Duo Claude was founded in 2021 from the proposal of Maestro Marco Zuccarini in the Imola International Academy. The pianist, Wataru Mashimo graduated with honor at the academy, and he is prize-winner at the 29th Clara Haskil Competition in Vevey. The violinist, Pasquale Allegretti Gravina completed his study with honor at the Conservatory in Cosenza and he is the winner of the Mimas Competition 2022 in Procida.

Irrespective of their ages, they already got chances at important locations in the musical scene in Italy, “EstOvest Festival” in Torino, Palazzo Cerio in Capri, Mozart Concert Hall, Bologna, “Officina del Suono” Festival in Udine. In March 2023 the ensemble became a prize-winner at the 4th “Gasparo da Salò” international chamber music competition in Brescia and has been selected as the supporting artists at the “Quartet and Chamber Music Forum”, event promoted by “Roero Cultural Events” in collaboration with the Delian Quartet and given a series of concerts in Italy/Germany. The Duo has been selected for one of the members to take a part in the project “Giovani Talenti Musicali Italiani nel Mondo”, an initiative set up in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Italy and International Cooperation and CIDIM. Among the chamber collaborations, those with Francesco Dillon and Renaud Dejardin stand out.

In addition to their continuing of chamber music studies with Maestro Marco Zuccarini, both proceed their study as a soloist with maestro Boris Belkin, Leonid Margarius and Ingrid Fliter.
